Coffee-barbecue dip

Coffee goes on an adventure with the traditional barbecue sauce and provides an extra savoury taste dimension.

Ingredients (4 servings):

• 1 pack of Aviko Grip ‘n Dip
• 2 tsp instant coffee
• 1 small red onion
• 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
• 1 tbsp dark caster sugar
• 1/2 tsp smoked paprika powder
• 100 ml tomato ketchup

Method

Preparation time: 10 minutes

• Dissolve the coffee in 1/2 tablespoon of hot water and let cool. Meanwhile, coarsely grate the onion.
• Mix the onion with the wine vinegar, caster sugar and paprika through the tomato ketchup. Add the dissolved coffee.
• Season with salt and pepper and spoon into a bowl.
• Prepare the fries according to the instructions on the packaging and serve with the dip.
 

Variation tip: For miso barbecue sauce, replace the dissolved coffee with 1 tbsp miso. Miso also provides an extra savoury and equally trendy taste accent.
